Personality
Griffin is your typical nice guy in terms of personality goes. He isn't quiet though, likes to laugh and be loud when the situation allows it, and he definitely likes to crack a few jokes and puns - much to everyone else's dismay. He is a very intelligent individual, but sometimes he just doesn't think things through. He likes to do things on a whim, take a chance and try something new all the time if he can, but he also knows his limitations. He tries not to ruffle feathers and agitate people, but sometimes that's easier said than done. If he himself is being threatened, he does take the defensive - or offensive depending on the situation - and will do whatever it take to defend himself, even if it means it will end up with him being tossed around a few times into someone else's fist. He's very headstrong and passionate about what he does and what he thinks is right or wrong, but also very understanding as to how opinions can differ. Kind, funny, intelligent and a bit egotistical, Griffin does well to be a 'liked' individual in Valhaven, at least to most. To some, he is nothing more than a flat out nerd.

Griffin and his family had always lived in Valhaven, Colorado. There was just something about the small town that kept them there, it had seemed like a perfect place to raise a family. Griffin was the second born to Geoffery and Melissa Murdoch, a few years younger than his older brother. The two had distinct differences about them, while Griffin was focused on academics and getting good grades, his brother and supposed role model, was doing the opposite. Lazing about, not caring much as to what he was doing, and of course causing trouble for not only himself but for the rest of his family as well, it made Griffin look like the ideal child at the time. Griffin and Miles got along fairly well, but definitely butted heads now and again, then their little sister Penelope came along. Everything was normal, it was a picture perfect happy family, two parents, three children, a nice small town, there was nothing that could go wrong. What made his childhood even greater was his best friend Marcell - who are still friends to this very day. Having lived next door to one another since what felt like the dawn of time, the two were always getting into trouble, having fun, everything best friends should be. Even with the discovery of Marcell being
No harm, no foul.
While Griffin did work hard to have good grades, it always seemed that mathematics, history, and anything relating to those subjects had caught his eye more than anything else. He joined several school clubs, doing whatever he could to stay on top and be something of a leader among his peers. He let his other classes slack a little bit, focusing mainly on what interested him. It was very obvious by the time he had hit high school that his future was starting to become predictable, something within the criminal justice field, something that held loads of information that would only continue to grow as time went on. Sure enough, Griffin wanted to teach PI/CSI work at the local university one of these days, after a good amount of experience though , wanting to be out and doing the job for himself before passing that on to other aspiring individuals. He was particularly intrigued by mysteries, solving puzzles and trying to figure out the mind behind a crime. He excelled greatly in his class.
Hard work had finally paid off.
While his brother had gotten himself hitched, starting a family, and his sister having moved across the country for her own schooling, Griffin had managed to finish out his university experience as a student, only to return as a student teacher for the current criminal justice instructor, set to take his place whenever he retired. He also worked with the local PD as a young investigator, hitting up crime scenes and getting first hand experience, helping him both learn more and secure his future. Things were looking bright for the young man, focusing hard on his job - and yet still making good time for a social life - and by now, the entire family had separated, Penelope still across the country, as well as his parents who had moved to be closer to their youngest, Miles and his wife had relocated to southern California, leaving Griffin to be the only remaining family member in the town they had all lived in for so long, at least he still had Marcell at his side.
