--------------- Hiking, next to other things had been one of Alice's favorite things. It was something that she could do without the pester of others. Though the town had grown on her she liked that aspect of still being able to get out. Not that she would by any means but it was still an option. Her boots moved across the path in an upward direction. She was not even sure how long she had been out this way. Gripping the hiking stick she trudged onward. The music in her pocket blairing as loud as it could go.
The view was only getting better the further up she went. She had not been on this angle of the lake from up high at least. There was a sense of peace up here at least. Not that it was not like that in town, well it was on some days, but up here it was a ton better. She pulled her waterbottle from her belt, taking in a drink from it and sitting down on one of the near by rocks.
Turning her head to the side back down the way she had came she hear someone else coming up the path. Or maybe it was something else. It was not until she saw the human figure that she dropped the something else. However her lips pulled back into a smile as she saw Griffin coming up the path. Odd as it was, she had not thought that anyone would be out here. Low and behold she was prooven wrong. However she was partly used to that, not that she minded, she was just wrong a lot. She gave a shake of her head at that thought giving him a small wave.

Griffin was a man who definitely enjoyed exploring, searching for answers and finding new things to research, be it history or not – though that was more of his knack than anything. He enjoyed just being outside...thinking about everything he knew, just contemplating everything, it was fun, sometimes a little scary to think of what ifs, but regardless...it was a good past time. The best place to do was somewhere a little more rural, somewhere where you didn't find too many people...even if Valhaven was fairly small, it still carried a lot of bodies, and one good place to escape that was the nearby mountains and hillsides, perfect for hiking and sight seeing, a great place to clear your head and just...sort through things if you really needed to.
Not much bothered Griffin, but whenever something did, this was where he came.
Moving up one of the less steep pathways, Griffin was careful with his footing, knowing if he made one wrong move it could very well be his undoing. Scaling down a steep hill with a broken leg didn't sound too appealing. As he continued onward, enjoying some of the silence, he occasionally stopped to take a look around. He wasn't out here for anything particular, not today at least, he just...wanted some fresh air and get a chance to clear his head, everyone needed days like that once in awhile. As he continued up a slope, a familiar head of blonde hair came into view, as well as a wave directed his way. Green eyes narrowed in on Alice for a moment, a wide smirk finally pulling at his lips as he got closer and more into hearing range.
She was seated, he just approached casually, pocketing his hands in his jacket. “I come out here for peace and quiet...then run into the exact opposite,” he started, amusement coloring his tone as he stared down at the blonde, perhaps she was out here for the very same reason? Just...a breath of fresh air. “Looks like it's my lucky day.” Moving a hand to quickly ruffle the top of her hair – because that was always annoying – Griffin let a small chuckle escape his lips before letting his eyes move around the area in which she had stopped. A fairly pretty area, but there was still lots more to see up and down the pathways, it wasn't going to be an all day event, just an hour...maybe two or three, just enough time to get some good walking in, as well as thinking. Now it had more of a social hint to it. “What brings you all the way out here anyways? I'm known for playing in the dirt and all...but you? Solo-scenery hiking never struck me as one of your interests...”

--------------- As he moved closer she pulled the earphones out of her ears letting the drop to her side. One of the last people that she expected find out her in the middle of no where. Not that she was complaining of course. "Yeah well I might say the same." She said as she nodded to him. Though it was clear to just about anyone that had been around them knew that it was near impossible for them be quite, in nearly any situation. It was like pot calling the kettle black. Fixing her hair somewhat after decided to assault it she shook her head again, "Right lucky you." She replied with a small smirk. Out of a small instinct she looked back down the path almost expecting to see Marcell too, though it did not happen. Most of the time they were at the hip, but it was good to get a break once and a while.
As he spoke again she arched a brow at him, "Something we have in common then, you know besides being loud." She said to him with a smirk. She took in another drink from her water bottle with a shake of her head. Standing up she looked up the path this time before looking back to Griffin, "We might as well, unless you have better plans." She said to him with a tilt of her head and a wide smile. If he wanted to turn back the other way she would be offended and he knew that. Though part of her did not mind the company, in fact most of her did not mind it at all. Sure it might have defeated the the purpose of coming out her ein the first place, but she was know to do that. Defeat the purpose.
It was one of those weird things that she could not explain. Alice had gotten to know a lot of people in this town in the last two years that she had been here. Though she had taken a shine to Marcell and Griffin. Or they had taken a shine to her, which ever way you wanted to look at it. They on the other hand had known each other all of their lives and here she came along. They say that three is better than two, however it was like adding knockout powder to an already lit smoke bomb. In a sense it made things twenty times better, though in another it made it twenty times worse. They however seemed to pull it off well enough without outside influence.

Spotting Alice out here had been the last thing Griffin had expected, but her presence wasn't unwelcome. He would never deny having Marcell or Alice at his side – unless his mood was THAT foul, then maybe. Grinning upon stepping up to her, he wasn't sure he had ever assumed Alice to be the 'great outdoors and hiking for the fun of it' type, but he welcomed that with open arms, the more you know, right? Having ruffled her hair up, always enjoying messing around with her, Griffin chuckled at her words. “Well, true...sorry to ruin your peace and quiet.” Sorry, not sorry, really. The two of them got along just fine, and while Griff had come out here to catch a bit of fresh air as well as thinking time to himself, he had gotten enough of that up to this point, so this was a nice way to start wrapping up his little adventure for the day.
A social gathering, versus an isolated one.
“That's another one to add to the list then, isn't it? Had I known you would have been out here...I would have packed up a couple beers or something.” Not every outing could be accompanied by alcohol though, it just made it more fun. Take their camping trip – if you could call it a 'trip' – for instance, though...there was a smidge of weirdness tied to it now that Griffin thought about it, but he gracefully accepted it all. They'd all had too much to drink and what not, that was the only comment that ever needed to be made about it. It had still turned out to be a great evening, very fun and memorable, and he was more than game for things like that again. “Nope, no other plans from me...let's continue.” Griffin held his arm out ahead of them, allowing Alice to start first – you know, since he was a gentleman and all. Following a half step behind the blonde, mostly staying on the same plane, Griffin pocketed his hands and continued to keep a small smile on his face, not feeling the need to fill in all of the silence...they got on just fine without every ounce of time being filled by words, even if they were both loud by nature.
As they moved on, the slope going up some, then down some, and around some curves and what not, Griffin still got a bit of his thinking time in, but he also wasn't going to flat out ignore Alice, they were in this together now. “You know...sometimes I have to wonder why this place isn't busier...it's a good place to get some air, see the sights, and you know...now that most of the leaves have started to die, you can see downtown from here.” Griffin stopped and pointed through some of the tree branches, still donning some rust colored leaves, but you could see some of the streets of downtown, the strip of shops and the bar. It was a nice view, and once all the leaves dropped...you could probably see all of Valhaven if you wanted to. “This might have to be another spontaneous trip one day soon...what do you think? Or...I don't know, could be just a...you and me thing if you wanted.” Moving a hand awkwardly to the back of his neck, Griffin wasn't even sure he was registering the words in his head before he was spewing them out of his mouth, like word vomit.
Regardless, he liked spending time with Alice, and he did get his fair share of spending time with Marcell alone as well, so this could be one of their things they did just the two of them. That...was a really neat thought, just come out here once in awhile, walk, talk, and just...get away, let off some steam, whatever it was they needed to do, it didn't matter.

--------------- Her eyes narrowed somewhat at his reply before she cracked a grin at him. It was not like there were extremes with him. On a normal day he was always like this. Though she was not sure if she had ever seen him on a bad day. To be honest she was not sure that she even wanted to. That was where the extreme came in, notmally with people like that, it would have been something terrible. She smirked at his words with a nod of her head following, "Touche." She said in agreement. It was not like they were always drinking, though in a clear sense, it might have seemed like they were. That was the reality of it. Because when they were not, it was less intense. Not that she minded less intense, she did it all the time, but with this guy, she did not mind it so much.
Alice gave him another nod as he indicated for them to walk. The walking stick in between them as they walked. She clipped her water bottle back to her side looking back to him, wearing that dumb smile she normally did. Though when he stopped she did, following his gaze. "Huh, I had not noticed that before. As many times as I have been up here." She said to him, and it was the truth despite only having being here two or so years. It was sad that she had lost count, but she was sure that Marcell knew that figure. "I am telling you. It is this town, a lot of good things here. Makes my decision to come out this way more justified." She said with a smirk looking to him as he spoke again.
When he had suggested it, it seemed far better coming from him than it would have her. This something between them that she could not explain, hell she did not even know what it was. However, she had not complained about it, nor denied it existance. Though she had not said anything to him about it, that was not really denial. Was it? Alice shook her head somewhat at that thought looking back to him realizing that she was looking back to the town. She gave him a nod of her head, "I hear they do some bridge jumps up at the revine. You know, strap yourself to thin ass bungee and jump from a thousand feet. Unless you wanted somthing more tame." She smirked at him, "I can get behind that too."

While Griffin hadn't expected company out this way, he wasn't going to shun Alice from his little expedition. He enjoyed getting away, and he...certainly wasn't busy these days, things were far too quiet, the semester was coming to a close very shortly, it meant that so long as nothing catastrophic happened in Valhaven that required his keen eye...he'd be free for awhile. Free to bother Marcell...maybe...spend some time with Alice, all good options. As they walked up an incline, Griffin stopped, looking through the trees at the little bit of Valhaven's downtown area that you could see. Once more leaves would fall you could see a wider portion of the town, but for now...this was pretty nice. “Sometimes we miss the small details around here...I've lived here my whole life and hadn't noticed it until not too long ago.” Griffin was quick to offer Alice a small smile, shoving his hands in his jacket pockets as he then turned his green-eyes back towards the town.
“You're right...there are a lot of good things here. Now more so than before.” What? What was that supposed to mean? Griffin just kept staring forward, throwing out the idea of making this a spontaneous trip, perhaps at least...or...it could just be a him and Alice sort of thing, there was nothing wrong with that. The suggestion was innocent enough, besides, Alice and Marcell lived together and worked together now, they had to have their bonding moments. Of course Griffin and Marcell did as well, being best friends since childhood, so it made more than enough sense for Griffin and Alice to have a bit of time to themselves as well. Leaving the suggestion open, unsure of what to tack onto that, Griffin shot the occasional glance towards the blonde near him, wondering what was going through her head.
He had meant it as friends and all, but the thought had crossed his mind...at least once or twice.
As soon as Alice started to speak again, Griffin couldn't help but quirk a brow, shooting a small glance in her direction and letting out a laugh. “You know...I've been against a lot in my days, between my job and dealing with Marcell's magic fairy dust stuff...yet you still seem to suggest the most reckless things I could ever think of.” Thin ass bungee cords didn't settle well with Griffin, but...it certainly was a thought. “I'll be honest and say I'm not the best with heights, so if you're just looking for an excuse to make me cry...that might be it.” Not that he really would cry, but be a bit nervous? Hell yes he would be! Something more tame might have gained a bit more of his attention, as far as wanting to do something at least. Making a gesture for them to keep moving, Griffin was ready to keep walking, and probably start heading back down towards the car very soon. This was nice and all, but there was only so much walking and sight seeing you could do. “So Alice...I wanted to ask you something...” He started out, perhaps a few nerves tingling the inside of his stomach, like annoying butterflies. At the last second, he hesitated for a moment, drawling out a nice 'uhh' sound for a moment before thinking of something else on the fly.
He couldn't ask her out, or anything close to that...it'd likely make things weird, put a hitch in their relationship and ruin it for all three of them. That'd be stupid. “How are you liking the new job?”

--------------- There were a lot of things that she had missed here, things that she did not see hereself doing ever. Before this town it was nothing but chaos with her. In a way that had not changed, except it was a different chaos. Also a much less like by society chaos. She shook her head at that though as Griffin spoke again, her head turned to look at him for a moment, bubt only for a moment before turning her attention back to the town. She did not want to be the last person to know that and it was good to know she was not even if she had no idea yet.
Though a small laugh came too her as he suggested that her idea was reckless. She had been about to say something before he continued. Giving him a small saddened look with a jesting laugh behind it, "Aww, well that is the last thing I would want to do." Alice retorted to him. Continuing to walk seemed the best idea for them both at least and back down the way that they had came. In that long moment of silence Alice could not help but think what it was that was going on. Clearly they were different than when Marcell was around. Though she was almsot the same when it was just Marcell and her. But something was changing. Her head turned to look at him as he stated that he had something to ask.
That was it. That pit in her stomach emptied to the bottom and the rest just sank. Her brow arched at him for a moment and for a slpit second as he asked how her job was going, that was when it all went down hill. When you realized that moving down hill you were going a bit faster and should be paying more attention to where you were walking than other important things. Alice had tried to catch herself, thankfully she had choosen pants to wear on this hiking trip and not shorts. The palms of her hands hit the rocky ground first, and proceeded to slide down the ramaining slope. Which was not all that long, had she not been using her face as a stopper.
For a moment she just laid there, she did in fact close her eyes, maybe just maybe if she could not see Griffin, he could not see her. Deep down though she knew that was the joke. "Yup, that job. It's great." She spoke a loud as she pulled her hands under her to sit up again proper. Looking to them when she did, the gravel and dirt that she felt stung a bit.

Griffin was sure that this little outdoor expedition of his would be ending soon. He had been out here for awhile, but he didn't mind spending some more time with Alice. He never minded spending time with her to be honest. She was great! She had an awesome attitude that he and Marcell could definitely compete with, and then sometimes she send their sarcastic remarks running. It was...admirable. She was adventurous...smart...funny...a lot of great things that Griffin mulled over anytime he was around her, but he didn't want to actually say any of that. It would likely make things weird, awkward, and potentially ruin what great chemistry they all had together. As much as he might have wanted to act on his little...attraction towards the blonde, he thought of his friendship first and foremost.
That was something he could never replace, why ruin it?
“Somehow...I don't quite believe that.” Griffin jested in return to Alice, knowing full well that if either she or Marcell had an opportunity to see him squirm and potentially cry...well..it might be worth the trouble, if only for a little entertainment – he wouldn't cry, but maybe that thought would keep them away from the bungee jumping. As they continued onward, he couldn't help the twisting in his stomach, the desire to throw all of those ideas of 'ruining friendship' out the window and just ask her to go for a drink...maybe...maybe a meal or a movie sometime. It sounded so stupid the more he thought about it, and the worst she could do would be to say no, right? Saying no...that would surely be the worst thing and have scary and destructive consequences. As he had started to ask her a question...the caved, chickening out at the last second and coming up with the lamest question to take the more important one's place.
Having kept the same pace as before, Griffin noticed Alice pick up a little speed as they were going down a slope, and before he could do anything...she slipped and was on the ground and going down a few feet against the dirt and gravel. A small look of panic crossed his face as he moved quickly to get to the bottom of the slope where Alice had stopped and pushed herself to sit up properly, muttering out a lousy answer to his lousy question. Well...that was awkward. “Alice!” He called as soon as he got close to her before kneeling down next to her. The fall could have been worse, thankfully she had stayed on the trail, but she did look a little dirty now...not in the good way either. “You alright?” He had to ask, carefully getting his arms around her to hoist her back up to her feet, making sure to keep a hand on her to make sure she was steady. “While that's a quicker way to get down the trail...it didn't look all that fun to me.” A small joke to try and ease the mood but...his concern for her well being was a bit more important than that.

--------------- "Ah well believe what you need to." Alice with a small shake of her head as she turned her head to look at him. However right he might have been it was not like she would have made him cry with the intent to harm. As long as she had been in Valhaven she had not really been in the friend making business. That was not what she had came here for, though it seemed as if things were working against her since day one. Not bad things, by far.
That moment was clearly there at least for a small amount of time anyway. Though it had been short lived, she heard her name as she tumbled down the incline. Yeah, there could have been better ways of doing that. Her head turned to look at him as he asked if she was alright, "Yeah, I will be fine." She stated with a small shake of her head. As she was brought to her feet she could not help that feeling of awkward. But it was replaced with a laugh, "You think, I thought it was at least impressive. No broken bones at least." She said to him with another small laugh. Indeed it could have been worse. Though she did not really fancy a broken leg or arm.
It was not enough that she had juse made a fool of herself, "Next time I can make it more flamboyant." She retorted taking it all in stride. That was about all that she could in that sort of situation. It was hard enough trying to keep straight most of the time, it was when she was out here that that was not an issue. Going to take a step forward it was then when she felt her ankle give way. Instinctivly gripping his arm for some sort of support outside of her other leg. "See now there is the problem." It must have twisted itself. "Walking." She simply stated with a shake of her head.

Griffin wasn't sure what had compelled him to want to ask that question...but he had also chickened out fairly quickly. Alice was special to him, she was one of his best friends...and the idea that him asking such a thing...well...there were possible consequences due to it. He could get some major laughter and teasing in response, never live it down from either Alice or Marcell, or it could really make things weird, shatter the friendship and put Griffin in a rut. He didn't want to be responsible, but he wasn't going to deny what he felt for Alice. He knew what it was...he wanted to ask her out, even if it was for the simplest date ever...but he couldn't risk the friendship. He was being a giant baby over all of this and it was enough to agitate him in the long run.
Alice's tumble gained his attention though, drawing him away from the pros and cons of asking her out.
Rushing to catch up down to Alice, genuinely concerned, he was quick to help Alice get back to her feet, keeping a steady hand on her to make sure she got her balance just right before he let go of her. It would do no good to just...let her fall over as soon as she was back on her feet anyways. “Alright, it was a little impressive...though...not in a good way, sad to say,” he tacked on a half laugh, definitely enjoying her spirit of things, at least she was hard to disturb in events like these. Or at least that was what Griffin had assumed. She didn't seem to fazed by having plummeted a few feet down a gravel slope, but if she insisted she was alright then that was good enough for Griff.
“Please don't.” Griffin chuckled, not sure he could imagine what sort of 'flamboyant' nosedive Alice could come up with that wouldn't land her in a hospital bed. No doubt she wouldn't wan to experience that, nor did Griffin want to witness that. It looked as if they were ready to keep going, perhaps watching their steps a bit more carefully, but as Alice took her first step, quickly tugging onto Griffin's arm for support, the man tried to steady his balance to make sure they both stayed upright, bringing his other arm around forward just in case the blonde did fall forward as well, he'd be able to try and catch her at least. Well...at least he hadn't slid a lot and she hadn't brought them down to the ground...but walking was an issue. “Must've caught your foot somewhere down that slip-an'-slide you made...” Looking back up the way they had came, Griffin frowned for a second, thinking about all of this. Alice was in no real condition to hike down a trail, that much was very obvious.
Guess he had to do the next best thing.
Releasing himself of Alice's hold and stepping in front of her, he turned so his back faced her and bent his knees so that he was crouched real low to the ground, making it as easy as possible for her to shift from where she was onto his back, if she accepted the offer. “Alright, come on then...unless you want to try sliding again.” He teased ever so slightly, not that he'd allow her to try that again but...jokes tended to lighten the mood at least.

--------------- Alice smirked at his agreenece. There was nothing like being alone in a statement that you had just made. However it was always good be an advocate it made things fun in most cases. While sure she could have been whineing about having a twisted ankle and some scratches here and that she was not that type of person. She had never grew up to be that way. Not that she did not like the finer aspects of being a girl, because she did, she just did not see the point in going over board about some things. It made life harder and she did not want that for herself or those that she was around all of the time.
"Oh I do not plan to, on purpose anyway." She said to Griffin with a small nod of her head. Further explaination was not really needed. She gave a small scoff at his words of slip and slide. Her feet were not working all proper at least. "Thank you for that description. Had the ground been softer." This was in no way the picture she had for the day. When he had shown himself coming up the trail it had changed. Mostly for the worst, but she could accept that, at least for now.
The blonde watched as he positioned himself, she shook her head somewhat getting the idea. Or the picture anyway. "Well at least you gave me the option." She retorted with an appriciative nod of her head even though he did not see it. "Fine." As odd as it was to her she was being agreeable, something else she did not find herself doing before coming to this town. Alice did not launch herself on his back but instead took that opportunity to make sure that they both were not face first on the ground like she had been moments ago. A smirk came to her slightly resting her chin on his shoulder, "So do you do this with all law abiding citizens?" She questioned in regards to his profession, something that she could never do.

Well...at least Griffin's inner awkwardness had faded as soon as Alice started sliding down the slope. Thankfully she was alright, things could have been a lot worse, and he had seen worse while on the job...if anything this could just be something to tease her about later. Hoisting her up to her feet as they had a few sarcastic remarks to make back to one another, Griffin had to wonder if from here on out everything would be alright. There was no consistency with today. He had been alone in complete silence before, then with Alice in a carefree hike, then internally awkward and unsure of what to say or do regarding said girl, and then this. What else was going to happen? Change the mood? Or could it just...end on a semi-good note?
“Had it been softer you might have just kept on going.” He chuckled slightly before having his arm tugged on definitely indicating that something was wrong. Ah...her ankle. That wasn't all that surprising, and there didn't seem to be any easy way down the rest of the slope and back towards the parking lot where his car was...so it seemed that Griffin was going to have to use some muscle today. Getting in front of Alice and offering up a piggy-back ride, he waited, half anticipating for her to just...leap onto his back, but grateful she hadn't. He'd locked his knees just in case, just so they wouldn't go flying. With her on his back, he adjusted his hands to rust under her legs to make sure he had a hold of her. At least she wasn't heavy, that was a good thing, he wouldn't have to worry too much about balance, just watch his steps, as he was doing before. “Thanks for not jumping, I'm not sure how either of us could have gotten down had you decided to throw out my back...”
Feeling her rest her chin on his shoulder, Griffin could feel those annoying knots in his stomach again, it made him want to frown, but he pushed past it while starting to take careful steps downwards, Alice on his back and keeping a good grip on her in the process. “Do I give piggy-backs to all law abiding citizens? No. Do I help? I try...sometimes.” He chuckled in response, keeping his eyes straight forward but occasionally taking the opportunity to try and look towards his shoulder where Alice had rested her head. “For you though...I'd do anything to help you, you know.” That was just him being a good friend right? Friend...yeah. Clearing his throat on that comment, he decided to go with an easier approach to the topic earlier, the topic he had skipped out on. “So what else did you have planned for your day? I mean...you probably should put some ice on that ankle of yours...”

--------------- "Had it been softer I might have enjoyed it more." Alice said with a small laugh. That much was true at least. The idea of wrestling with a bed of gravel was not on the top list of her things to do. The idea of him piggy-backing her all the way to the start was only somewhat amusing. This day was getting at least less awkward and more entertaining. "You are very welcome. I do not fancy the idea of having to call Marcell because of a sprain and pulled back." If she had to of course she would, but how they had gotten into that situation was the last thing she wanted to mention. It was not like either Griffin nor herself were weak. But they were just human after all.
That thought left as soon as it had came. A laugh came to her at his words, "That is good of you. A modest cop and all." Of all the things that could have happened today, it was this. As normal as it was, it was just weird. A good weird, but weird none the less. A brow arched as him as he continued to speak, but she returned his smile. Were words really acceptable when people said things like that. There was never really any room to tell, but she knew that Griffin meant them. While she would do the same for the him, she could not see herself having enough of the gritt to piggy back him a half a mile. Through adrenline rush maybe.
"Well I do not see myself partaking in my normal Saturday dance lessons." She paused with a small laugh knowing the joke could only go so far. "I've got nothing at all planned. You know aside from putting ice on this ankle." She repeated him, though clearly indicating that her evening was as bland as it sounded. "What about you?" Flinging the same question back. It was easier when both were participating in conversation when clearly they were trying to fill that gap of an alone evening of doing nothing. Though she could have been wrong, he could be out doing whatever it was that he did with his occupation. Paper work, gun play, busting people she was not actually sure in which order they went.

The awkwardness had mostly subsided, but Griffin could still tell there was an annoying knot turning in the pit of his stomach. He wanted to ignore it, he did on most occasions, but it was being persistently annoying today. Upon getting Alice on his back, Griffin did let out a rather loud laugh at the idea of having to call Marcell. “Can you imagine? He'd probably laugh his head off and leave us here to sit and suffer for a little bit before actually helping out...” Probably not, but he wouldn't toss the idea out completely. “Or maybe he'd show up, do a little magic mumbo jumbo and all would be well again.” He commented lastly upon starting to move, watching his steps and taking a rather slow pace, if only to prevent any other accidents that really would end up hurting them both beyond just a sprained ankle.
“I don't know about modest, I mean...I know I'm pretty great, and everyone should know it.” That was a bit of a tease, but it wasn't a secret that Griffin's ego could get the best of him once in awhile. He was a genuinely good fellow, sometimes with a big head to get in the way, but that was just part of his unique and awesome character. As they continued down, each step being carefully watched, it was only about half a mile to go, then they could get to the car, he could drive her to wherever she wanted to go and they could move on with their day. Asking the question of what her plans were though, Griffin couldn't help but let an amused sound pass between his lips at Alice's words, there really was never a dull conversation between the two, even when it should have been considering the topic.
At least she agreed with him on putting ice on her ankle, likely elevating it as well, especially with all the running around she did for a living now, she'd want to get healed up as soon as possible. “I didn't really have anything planned...” He started with slight hesitance before looking forward once more, he could swear he could see the blacktop parking lot starting to come into view, faintly. “...I was thinking I might grab a beer or something after this, maybe at the bar, or just go home...” More hesitance as his pace even slowed a bit, not to a halt, but they certainly weren't moving very fast. “Maybe a drink or two will help ease a bit of that pain in your ankle...I mean...if you wanted to join me, if not, I could drop you off at home, make sure you get inside okay...” Well...it wasn't a date, but he did ask her to hang out with him, be it at the bar or at his own place, he wasn't sure, and part of him really wanted her to say yes, it didn't matter where.
It might give him that extra boost of confidence on the situation he needed, or he could watch it all crash and burn to bits and pieces.

--------------- "Yeah, that seems like his idea of fun. Leaving his friends to suffer and all." Alice said to him when he spoke again. "Or that. Though I'd like to say that he would most certainly laugh first." If he did not then she would seriously think that something was wrong with him. Her laugh returned with his not so modest response. "Oh right. Feed that fantastic ego trip that we both seem to have." It was true. "I will give in to that notion." She said with a small laugh patting his chest lightly. Looking forward again she could now see the pavement without a question.
Noting the pace change as he spoke, thought partly wishing she had not. Alice did not intrupt him as he spoke. Though she carried smile really unknowingly as he brought up his points. She was not going to assume anything, because assuming got you no where and well facing it was just as hard. So for now she rolled with it. Though deep down she did not want to go against it, while she might have thought for a split second that she would have, they were dead threats. Playing hard to get was not really her thing, however she had been known to get on the defense. But here, nothing was coming to her. She had no reason to.
"As much as I feel the need to struggle with that apartment." Alice said with a small shake of her head and a laugh following, he knew well what she meant. While sure the apartment was clean in a sense that you did not need an air freshner hanging from your neck, there was always shit laying around. Sometimes to the point where angle herself so as not to trip over piles of random things. It was how she rolled, how her and Marcell both rolled. While they might have been rolling backwards, they were rolling. But deny it she must, the underlineing reason was to spend time with Griffin.
"Yeah, I could go for a drink." Alice replied finally to his question. "Make this day less embarassing." She said though really that could have been at her being reckless and not watching where she was going, or the fact that they or she mostly were having some serious issues coming to terms.
