“Don't forget the pointing. He'd probably point as he laughed too.” Griffin tacked on happily as their conversation was fairly normal for the two of them. Some sarcastic remarks, poking a bit of fun at Marcell (kind of) and some ego feeding. It was as normal as could be, despite Griffin's slight awkwardness on the inside that he chose to ignore for now. As they continued, getting closer and closer to the blacktop, that desire to fend off any awkward feelings just...lessened. Thinking about it, Griffin was sure he could at least get Alice to have a drink with him, that wasn't abnormal, but it was how he felt alongside it that made it weird, not that he thought she could sense that but...maybe she could? Girls were weird like that, they had some sort of magic powers of their own, they did better investigative work than the pros! Or at least that's what it felt like.
Would Alice notice? And if she did...would she care?
Offering the idea out there, but also giving her the option to just go home, Griffin hadn't noticed his change in pace, but as she started speaking again...he quickened up once more, getting back to normal. He could almost feel his heart thundering in his chest in anticipation for some reason, and was a little relieved to hear Alice's acceptance. It was just a friendly acceptance, right? Right. Totally. Another chuckle escaped Griffin's lips as he really could see the road from here, it wasn't too far off now, he could even see the Impala! “Alright, drinks it is. I've got a couple cases back at my place, unless you'd rather hit the bar...though...I've also got ice packs...” And no one to look around at her if she did prop her foot up with some ice. Less embarrassing, right?
Making it down the rest of the way, Griffin was strong...but he was starting to feel it a bit in his lower back. Alice wasn't heavy by any means, but the added weight, plus trying to stay balanced and going downwards and fighting gravity...well, it was understandable that he might feel SOMETHING afterwards. He might utilize an ice pace or heating pad for himself once they got home. Spotting the Impala sitting where he had left it, he approached with a grin. “There she is, there's my sweet baby.” He called to the black vehicle before moving over to the passenger's side, carefully placing Alice down onto the pavement starting on her good side so she could get her balance while he unlocked the car. Opening the door and getting one arm around Alice's arm, he made a simple hand gesture for her to take a seat as slowly and comfortably as she could. “Ladies first, and all, right?”
Shutting the door once the blonde was in, seated and buckled, Griffing moved over to the driver's side, unlocked the door and got in just as quickly, starting it up and getting ready to drive off. “Well that was fun. Anything with us is always an adventure, isn't it?” He cheekily smiled towards Alice next to him before turning the volume dial of the dashboard up a smidge so there was some background music, nothing loud, nothing sappy either, he wanted to avoid awkwardness at all costs...especially since she had agreed to go back to his place and grab a drink or two – which wasn't the first time, but...to him it was different.

--------------- Yeah, pointing and laughing was his motive as well. Alice gave a small laugh at those thoughts. While they were brutal to one another sometimes, they were all still thick as thieves. That was two of the few friendships that she appriciated. Despite the fact that something was changing between herself and Griffin. It was one of those things that neither of them had accepted yet. Rather they would only time could tell.
That was what they were going right now, testing that time. "Yeah, no bar. I think I will pass on that too." Now it was forced. Not really forced, sure they could have gone else where, but it just seemed easier making that choice right out. As they neared the car she was suddenly thankful that she had walked here. The bike would have been much of a problem to ride. Though she knew that she was capable, but in this instance she did not have to. As she was let down, her eyes looked to Griffin after he spoke to the car. "I love it when you talk to your car like that. Not a lot of people do that." She said with a small smirk as she watched him open the door.
This had not been the first time that his car had been graced with her presense. However normally she got the backseat view. Not that she minded that, because you know more room and all. Though in a right, not saying shotgun fast enough. She gave a laugh at his words when he got into the car. "Right, half disasterous, but yes, adventure." She nodded in agreement. When the music sounded she returned his smile. Not minding the music at all. It was better than a car full of silence. They were also good at that.
But not for long. That much she also knew.

Alright, so far so good! He hadn't sounded completely stupid when asking Alice if she wanted to go for a beer or two after all of this. It was normal, that was the thing, but to Griffin it was definitely different than any other time. He had spent time with Alice alone before...but he hadn't had these annoying knots in his stomach at the time, or maybe he did and just didn't realize it. Ruling out the bar, they would be heading to his place in a matter of minutes upon getting to his car. Spotting, and ultimately sweet talking the black car ahead, Griffin felt a little more at ease as they got closer. "Not everyone has a car like I do..." Griffin replied in kind as he carefully slid Alice off his back and opened her door for her. Giving the Impala a fond pat as he circled around to the driver's side, things felt a little more comfortable between the two, at least from his side of things.
Turning the volume dial up a little bit just to give them a bit of background noise, Griffin kept his eyes on the road for the most part, occasionally looking towards the blonde next to him. "Keeps things interesting at least." Never a dull moment! As they moved back into town, there was simple idle chatter, but also some comfortable silence between them as well. It wasn't until they pulled up to the apartment complex that Griffin started to feel those obnoxious knots once more, but he refrained the desire to frown at the feeling. Parking the car as close to the doorway as he could, Griffin wasted no time getting out and circling around once more to help Alice out if she needed it. No doubt walking was out of the question, at least normally. Without giving her much option, Griffin went ahead and took the liberty to just...bring her into his arms, one arm carefully under her knees, the other behind her back for support. It would be much faster than trying to be a crutch for the smaller girl.
Backing up slightly, Alice in his arms, Griffin used one foot to push the car door closed and started for the complex. "I figure this is easier, besides, I'm really good at sweeping people off their feet." He cheekily commented, backing his way into the door and using his knee to push the elevator button to get up a few floors. Still keeping a hold of Alice, Griffin did have to set her back down as soon as they made it to his apartment door. Fishing for his keys and opening the door for her, stepping aside to allow Alice to limp inside first, Griffin really hoped these weird feelings would subside again. "You go hit the sofa, I'll grab the drinks and some ice for your ankle...make yourself at home." No doubt she would, so long as they were both comfortable that was all that mattered. Doing as he said he would, Griffin moved to the kitchen, grabbing two beer bottles in one hand and an ice pack in the other, he retreated back to the living space, knots still twisting away.
Maybe he just needed the proper nudge to actually say something? Maybe...he needed to talk to Marcell, get a fresh perspective on the matter.

--------------- There was no doubt that Griffin had a thing for his car. Hell there was no doubt that anyone that knew him had a thing for his car. Alice imagined that it was a part of him that would never go away, and she was perfecly okay with that. Alice smirked as his words of it being interesting. That was speaking midly if someone was being honest.
While sure she might have been to Griffin's place, it was only with Marcell. Damn, that was something she had not thought about until this moment. She turned her head to look at him as he parked and without words got out. "Wow okay." She said out loud, though clearly to herself. This was much harder than she had pictured. Mustering out things that had been there for a bit, but it was only just catching up with her. Or she had pushed them aside to deal with them later. Well now she was dealing with it. She gave a slight shake of her head as he opened up the door beating her to it.
She must have spaced for a moment. With a small grit of her teeth, yet again at herself she arched a brow at him as he scopped her up without question. Though a laugh came to her as he spoke. "Ah, well I will remember that the next time this happens." She gripped at his shoulder with the arm that was around his neck. As he walked should could not help the staring at him. Though she soon stopped when he let her drop to her feet once he was at the door. She walked in first with the gimp that she had. It was more of the fact that it had actually happened that she hated. Not the fact it was starting to hurt.
Moving over to the couch she gave him a nod of her head at his words. Uclipping her water bottle she sat it on the floor and pulled off her light jacket. Sitting down she slipped off her shoes, mostly to get a look at her ankle. Looking back up to Griffin she shook her head, nodding to the already swollen ankle that was before her. What a lousy thing to happen. "Thank you though. For the help. I do appreciate it." She said her words genuine.
