HUNTER BRISTOWE
FACE CLAIM: PAUL WESLEY
26 Male Warlock History Professor/Archaeologist Hetero; Single |
Personality
Hunter is a very...back and forth kind of fellow, in terms of how he might act towards certain people. If he likes you, he is kind, perhaps a bit quiet...but he is nice. To those he doesn't know he can come across as a bit stern or icy in terms of his demeanor, how he carries himself, and how he might react to someone. He isn't a huge talker, but will say what he wants if the thought crosses his mind. The only people he will really chatter to is his students or anyone revolved around his work - because it's work, it's not personal. Getting to know him on a personal level is a little difficult and while he does still have a bit of that closed off and icy demeanor even to his pals or family, he does care. He opens up after a bit of time, and while he doesn't like himself being the spotlight of a subject or topic, that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy others being the center of attention. He'd much rather hear about someone else, versus himself. He cares for others, shows it in his own weird Hunter way, but he isn't opposed to lending a hand or going out of his way to doing what's right. He likes to keep a good image about himself, especially with the whole 'magic' thing at his fingertips, so boasting and being egotistical about certain things isn't his style, he's more modest than anything.
Kind, a little icy to start, those things describe Hunter down to his core, but when he is angry...it's a whole other story. He is anything but quiet if you get him riled up enough, most things he can dismiss or let just breeze past him, but if you threaten him, his family, or anyone he cares about, you're in for a rude awakening. He has a fiery temper, though he isn't quick to anger thankfully. Most things he can combat with sarcastic remarks or hard stares, but when angry enough...you'll definitely see something of a different side to him.

History
Family Members:
- Joseph Bristowe; Father, Alive
- Sophia Dawson Bristowe; Mother, Alive
- Carter Bristowe; Younger brother (14), alive
- Erica Dawson: Cousin
Hunter was the first born child of Sophia and Joseph Bristowe, he started out life as normal as any other kid on the block. Loving parents, happy family, he started school right on time and showed great potential with his intelligence. His parents always did well to help him with his school work and do things at home for education as well. At the age of six he started showing off his magical potential due to his mother's side of the family, his father's side held no knowledge prior of the 'supernatural' world until Sophia and Joseph had married, but they welcomed the concept with open arms. His mother taught him how to control what it was he was doing and the simplest of spells, never to be used in the public eye though. She educated him on every aspect of the supernatural world there was, from vampires to werewolves, other warlocks and witches to demons. It was to be a family secret and no one could know, otherwise bad things would no doubt happen. Keeping his mouth shut on the matter, Hunter just remained happy and kept up his normal image as best as he could - though at home he was a little bit of a stinker and used magic to entertain himself, which was okay...so long as no one outside the family would see. Ever.
At the age of twelve, the Bristowe family welcomed in Carter, and much to everyone's surprise, Hunter was very excited to be a big brother, granted there was a huge age gap between the boys, but he swore to be the best big brother he could possibly be, especially to his parents. He wanted to help take care of him, help him with school whenever he got to that age, he wanted to be the perfect role model - and coming from a very good kid like Hunter that seemed like every parent's wish. Carter showed zero potential for any magic, but he always enjoyed watching Hunter and his mother do a variety of things, even if it was just for entertainment. The secrecy of magic did need to stay, it only extended through family, which also kept it hush-hush. Up until Carter was born, all Hunter really had was his cousin Erica for a source of family around his age, even if she was just a few years younger than he was, they'd practice magic together, got along just as well as regular siblings, but now Carter seemed to have all of Hunter's attention for the moment, and understandably so.
As the years went by, Hunter kept up that normal appearance, not letting magic cheat his way through school or anything, he was all about honest hard work, he had graduated near the top of his class and had aspirations for college. Upon getting started at college the following semester out of high school, Hunter spent the next few years working hard on achieving his desire to be a history teacher/archaeologist, enjoying the wonders of the past before and what was yet to come, taking classes and doing well in school in Denver where he grew up. It didn't feel like he was ever going to leave, which was okay, he was close to family...the place was lovely...but he did want to branch out at some point, live his own life...be normal - with a little help with some of his hidden talents. He finished up his schooling, getting his degree to be able to not only work with old and ancient artifacts, but to teach it as well - whenever a job became available.
One weekend, Hunter and his dad left for a hunting trip, wanting to score big game the donned themselves with rifles and some other necessities. Upon the end of their hunting trip, their last night spent in a hotel - Joseph Bristowe had left to hit up a nearby bar for some drinks, enjoying the rest of his mini-vacation while Hunter stayed at the hotel. Hearing a slight tussle outside, without even thinking about it he grabbed his hunting rifle and moved to the street only to see a brunette girl being attacked, it almost looked as if he was going to try carving something into her shoulder! Without hesitation, Hunter brought up his rifle and shot at the man, but...he disappeared. Judging by the eyes...Hunter was very certain that it was no ordinary sick human being, but a demon. Insisting on getting the brunette - Kinsly - to the nearest hospital, it was almost surprising to be rejected considering how much she was bleeding from the attack. The least he could do was try to patch her up and get the wound on its way to healing and not get infected. During any of these hunting trips, Hunter always brought some herbs with him, just as his mother had taught him, and did what he could to help the young lady out. He had never seen a demon attack first hand, so he took every precaution to make sure she would be alright in the end. His father had been rather kind about taking care of the poor girl for a bit as well whenever he had returned. While not too happy about Kinsly just wanting to up and leave after a demon attack, Hunter's concerns were dismissed slightly upon getting her number...at least then he could check in on her. Kinsly's contact started to slow, and ultimately disappear, which worried Hunter, but at the same time...he didn't know her either, and just hoped for the best and that the demon didn't find her again.
Hunter moved himself for an opportunity of a great job offer, getting to teach the topic he loved in a variety of ways, different courses and studies, everything he loved about history. It got himself a few hours away from home, but still close to family. The Dawson side of his family lived in Valhaven at least! With a small apartment of his own to live in, Hunter was finally looking forward to get on to a normal life - as normal of a life as a Warlock-History buff could get.
