First Thread!. @open words: #### |
Kinsly wiped off the filthy table suppressing an eyeroll as another man hollered at her. She straightened up regretting the fact she wore a damn skirt to work she tried to wear something outside of jeans even if the were ripped up. But clearly it was a mistake. Sure she had leggings on to cover everything but that hardly seemed to help. She walked back and went to wash her hands getting away from it all. "If another fucking asshole touches my ass." she grumbled behind the scenes. No human customer could hear which she was fine with. "They will leave with a fucking broken hand." she said honestly. though she respected Kallie and her business so she would save her upset to be taken out later.
She just needed to frustrate back here so she did not say it in front of a customer. Kins was a blunt person so staying quiet was not exactly her strong point so when someone pinched her ass she had no problem with fucking up their hand. But here at Kallies she tried to keep her temper to itself. She came out from the back a fake freaking smile on her lips. She served a table and the smile was gone as she grabbed menus for a new damn table. There was so many options on the menu and was proud she knew how to make the all on her own. But she certainly needed help.
She ran a hand through her hair a she stood behind the counter trying to maintain a sense of calm. She had to look welcoming after all at the counter for new people. She would do her best for Kallie she needed this job after all.

| Max was meeting so many new people, both at work and in the customer sense. He was starting to get an idea of people’s faces and what they ordered, but he was still very new to the city. It was a little difficult sometimes to adjust to the fact that he had to be at least somewhat sociable, not only with their customers but also with his coworkers. He was with Kinsly today, and he still wasn’t sure what to make of her. He could tell something was different about her, but didn’t know what it was. He was a little scared to find out. He would just come, do his job, get paid, and go home. He really did need to find a place in town, though. He couldn’t keep living in a cave…and wasting his precious money on a laundromat when he needed to clean his clothes…
Busy loading boxes on the shelf, Max was startled when Kinsly stormed back to wash her hands. “W-What?” he stuttered softly, almost dropping the box in his hands. Thankfully, he kept a hold of it, but he looked over at his coworker as she grumbled about customers touching her inappropriately. “Well…um…they shouldn’t be. Should we…ask them to leave?” This was a café, not a bar! People shouldn’t be randomly groping other people, no matter who they were! When Max had said ‘we’, he had really meant Kinsly. He didn’t have the right temperament to kick anybody out, even if they were becoming unruly.
But then Kinsly was gone again, presumably back to work, and Max lowered his eyes with a small sigh. She was so intimidating! Maybe she just hadn’t cared to hear what he had to say. Or maybe he hadn’t even been heard at all. Letting out another small sigh, he finished loading up the boxes on the shelf before washing his hands and heading out to the front, his apron back in place. Joining Kinsly at the counter, he kept his distance from her, but his eyes scanned the café curiously. “Who…was it…Kinsly?” he asked shyly. Not that Max could actually do anything about it, but maybe with him as a witness, Kinsly could kick them out.

Hello!. words: #### | Kinsly was in a rather wonderful mood right now she did not like having her ass grabbed by anyone. Sure if she was dating someone she might let them but she was not. She was still adjusting to this town and its ways and knew Kallie business was new and had yet to make a real name for itself. but she was sure it would. She might have been rude and ignored Max comments to her in the back. She was not keen on vampires and here Kallie had hired one. She was hardly amused and it was a struggle to not growl at him if she was being perfectly honest. So for now ignoring him was her best plan of action.
"Should we ask them to leave." she muttered to herself in the front rolling her eyes. No this was not a place where they should let people grab ass. But she knew if she said anything she would lose her temper and snap. She did not exactly play well with other when she got angry. Her finger drummed against the counter showing her agitation. She really was not good at hiding her emotions in the least. "God can you not mind you own buisness." she snapped at ma taking her anger out on him. She looked away then after a moment she pointed to the guy by the window. "Him." she said with a sigh.
"I brought him his coffee and as I walked away he...he's lucky i did not turn around and dump his drink on him." she said with a huff. She clearly was envisioningexacting he own revenge in her head but she shook her head knowing better. "If I talk to him I am going to rip his head off. Somethings are best left...alone." she said rolling her eyes at herself right now.

| By the time Max had made it out to the front area, he was incredibly nervous. Kinsly had completely ignored him when they were in the back. He really didn’t want to continue the conversation. But he was trying to be friendly – he was trying to be a good coworker and show concern about a potential sexual harassment problem, even if he didn’t have the guts to actually do anything about it. It was probably one of the bravest things he had done, continuing the conversation about asking which group was actually causing the disturbance, and it backfired…horrifically.
Kinsly turned and snapped at him, causing him to yelp and flinch back, stumbling as his hip bumped the corner of the counter and he very nearly crashed to the ground, but managed to keep his feet under him…somehow. If there was any blood flowing through his body, his cheeks would have been bright red at that point, and he just lowered his eyes and ran his fingers nervously through his hair. Maybe he should just…stop while he was behind. Kinsly clearly didn’t like him, for some reason. Though this was the first time she had been openly hostile, she had pretty much ignored him all shift.
But then, she actually answered his question, and his head snapped up to find her pointing towards a guy near the window. Quickly looking in his direction, in case Kinsly turned back to him and saw him looking at her, and he was horrified to find that he was shaking from head to toe in fear. It was pathetic. He had no functioning heart to race, he had no blood flowing through his body, he only had his muscles and tendons and ligaments which were actually working. “H-He…um…o-ok. If…If you…want to leave it…” Max’s voice was barely audible, and everything about his stance screamed submission. He had tried to make his body as small as possible, his head down, and his eyes on his shoes.
How was he going to survive here?

Hello!. words: #### | Kinsly glanced at him as he flinch and hit the counter she tried not to rolled her eyes at him. Poor guy really did not deserve the brunt of her anger and the logical side of her knew it. She was just not in the most pleasant of mindsets right now. She shifted on her feet hating the nagging urge to apologize to him. She really did not want to. She could say she was sorry but it was not something that came easy for the wolf.
She heard him speak up..well speak up was not the right term more like mumble in response to her. she slowly turned her head to face him fully. She tilted her head to the side eyeing the guy. He looked like someone had pissed in his cornflakes. "I'm sorry was that a sentence." she said bluntly. He did look rather pathetic right now. Ugh. "I am sorry I snapped at you." she said with a grunt. "I was just upset at the situation." she rolled her eyes at herself looking away from him.
"But don't think this means I like you." she said quickly wanting to make that clear. She did not know the guy in the least and sure she might be judging him for what he was. But so far her seemed harmless. "Leave it for now if it happens again I will break there fingers...unless you want to handle it." she said slapping on a smile looking to him knowing the answer to that already.

| Max was afraid of Kinsly, and he knew that they both knew it. He couldn’t even try to hide it! As he stood there at the edge of the counter, a little further away from Kinsly than he probably should have been considering they were…sort of talking…he was trembling like a leaf in the wind. How humiliating. Even Max knew that he was too much of a pushover, but he just couldn’t get out of that mindset. He had been tortured and abused his whole developmental life, and then once he became a vampire, the abuse continued. It might have been mostly verbal, but it was still abuse, nonetheless. It might not be quite as bad with women, but that reactive fear was still there when he heard a raised voice, especially if it was being used against him.
Wincing again as she asked if he had actually uttered a sentence, Max kept quiet this time. He couldn’t think of anything remotely intelligent to say, and didn’t think that Kinsly would appreciate anything stupid coming out of his mouth – not more than he had already said, anyway. Instead he just…awkwardly lifted a single shoulder in a shrug. He was honestly afraid to say anything more at this point. But then she surprised him, and he gave her a shocked look in response. She was…apologizing? She wasn’t even looking his way, which is only what gave him the courage to keep staring for a moment, before he lowered his gaze again. “I-It’s ok. I was…just being stupid…” That was always the case, wasn’t it? Max would always take the blame, even if it didn’t rightfully belong with him. Years of abuse would do that to a young man.
Kinsly quickly made it known that she still didn’t like him, and Max ducked his head even more with another wince. “I…I know…” Why, he didn’t know. But it was clear that she held no affection for him. Then again, why should she? It was their first time meeting. He just wished she wasn’t so…hostile. Max sighed softly as she said she would leave the situation alone for the moment, but if it happened again either she could handle it with violence, or Max could. He had a feeling they both knew that he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
“If…” he started hesitantly, head still down and voice barely more than a whisper. “I-If you…If you want me to…to work the floor…y-you can…work the counter…if you want…” A bold offer from Max! But whether she would take him up on it or not was anybody’s guess.

The wolf may or may not enjoy the fact she intimidated the vampire. She was not a fan of vampires and demons as a whole and this poor guy was judge from his scent before she even got to know him. She really could not explain the stench of a vampire it was like a pungent scent with tones of metal and rot and maybe some burnt wood. Though that was a poor explanation she just knew the scent well especially on a full moon. But she did her best not to go biting vampires last thing he pack needed was a vampire feud.
This vampire was going to learn fast she was a blunt individual even with her friends. She spoke her mind and if she could not say it to the face of the customer she would certainly say it in the back. Bottling things up did not come easy for Kinsly. She was not huge on apologies but he really had not deserved her snapping at him. God he needed to buck up. Either this was an act to gain people trust or he was a poor excuse of a vampire. "No you weren't." she corrected him.
She did not like him because of what he was plain and simple. She was the opposite of Max in so many ways. She was bold and unforgiving in how honest she was. Hard and harsh to those around her. Sure she could give him a chance and maybe down the line she would. But she did not truat a vampire therefore she did not trust Max.
The brunette looked to him tilting her head to the side as he spoke a small smile etching its way on to her lips. "Thanks that nice but I will be fine. Though it would be fine to see you jump when someone plays grabb ass with you." she said a amusing look crossing her face at the idea.

| Max’s head was down as he took the blame for being the problem and causing Kinsly to snap at him. He truly believed it, after years of constant abuse…first from his father and then from his Sire. The common denominator was Max, and when you’ve been told repeatedly that you are the problem…there is little choice in the matter. You have to believe it. It’s not only beaten into your mind, but sometimes literally beaten into him (in the case of his father, at least).
So when Kinsly corrected him, saying that it wasn’t him being stupid that had caused her to snap, he cautiously lifted his head to give her as surprised look. “W-What?” he asked in disbelief. It…wasn’t because of him? That was…the first time anyone had ever said that…
Running his fingers through his hair as he looked away from her again, the smallest of smiles touched his lips briefly before he returned to his neutral, rather pathetic look. His submissive look. After all, even if Kinsly had just given him a brief out, he was still terrified of her. She was just so intimidating! He couldn’t help himself from being afraid of her. At least she was a woman – that was about the only plus in regards to working with her. Frightening, but not male, at least.
He was surprised when she offered him a small smile, though, and he coughed harshly when she mentioned that it would be amusing to see him react to something grabbing his ass, and he shook his head. “I…I don’t think…we need to worry about that…” Nobody would want to grab Max’s ass. Nobody thought of him in that way…

Hello!. words: #### |
Kinsly looked to him when he questioned her and she let out a slow sigh at him. "I know I did not stutter." she said bluntly. She was not one to play nice easily and she knew he had heard her. She was pissed at the customer not him. He had just being the one who had gotten the brunt of her anger. "I was just mad and you were the lovely soul that it got taken out on okay. Let's not wallow on it please and thank you." she said simply. She had said her apology there was no need to rehash it or have her say whether she meant it or not. She had but it was not something she wanted to go on about.
She liked the fact she was intimidating to other it was nice that most did not mess with her. Sure some loved to ruffle her feathers but being seen as tough was nice for her. She had been through hell growing up it was nice to not be a victim. She hated being alone or used and knew her rude tough exterior was not always helpful. But it kept her safe and guarded after all she had a pack now. She had friends and in a sense a family it was nice for the first time in her life she had a place that actually felt like home.
Her brows furrowed at his words not taking them the way he meant it more then likely. "What so it's socially acceptable for a girl to get her ass grabbed but unlikly for a guy?" she asked looking at him expectantly. Yep she was being blunt and harsh but she could not help it.

That got really depressing really fast. I'M SORRY! | Max couldn’t help himself. He flinched back again as Kinsly seemed unimpressed with his question. It was more of a rhetorical question…he wasn’t really asking her…but she seemed to think he was. But then she made a…a sort of half-apology. Did he deserve it? Plus, she had called him lovely, but…he didn’t think she meant it. She was ready to move on, and Max didn’t want to incur any more of her wrath. It was bad enough, already.
As she teased him about what would happen when his own rear was grabbed, though, he couldn’t help but admit that nobody would do that to him. The last thing he expected was to get lashed out at again by Kinsly, and this time he did actually step back and away from her, fearfully. “W-What?! No! I…I didn’t…I didn’t say that!” He hadn’t said that at all! How had everything gotten so twisted around?
Max’s stomach was twisting anxiously, and all he could do was stare at his shoes. Nothing he said would make this right. He should just go back to not speaking to anyone. All it was doing, at least today, was causing him problems. Wrapping both of his arms around his stomach, which felt like it was going to expel everything he had eaten (which…wasn’t much), he turned to go back into the back room.
“I know…nobody likes me…” he uttered under his breath, just wanting to go in the back and disappear instead of causing more problems. Max probably shouldn’t have left Kinsly alone on the floor with the problem customers but…he was just causing more problems. It was best to just…pretend he didn’t exist until the shift was over. He wouldn’t bother Kinsly anymore…
